Job Description

The Junior Maintenance Technician will assist the Maintenance Manager and team, by troubleshooting activities and performing Root Cause Analysis on failures including but not limited to: Magnetron Heads, Power Supplies, Pressure issues, Gas issues, and other equipment processing problems that occur.

Specific Job Duties:

  • Responsible for the efficient repair of tools used in the manufacturing process
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on process tools
  • Troubleshooting processing issues involving microwave, power supply, pressure, and gas
  • Troubleshooting basic issues with vacuum pumps, motors, hydraulics, gears, etc.
  • Complete proactive maintenance & repairs while driving equipment uptime and increasing overall repair quality
  • Assist in the identification of process, material, or equipment problems to minimize downtime and improve process yields
  • Partner with Maintenance Manager to enhance maintenance team training and efficiency
  • Provides recommendations for purchases of new equipment/tools
  • Communicating with other departments to minimize equipment downtime and improve quality and performance
  • Other and all duties, projects, and tasks assigned by the employee’s manager.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn the equipment and facilities to be maintained.
  • Ability to use a CMMS system to document work performed
  • Ability to understand written directions in manuals and on manufacturer websites.
  • Strong computer literacy and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment or similar industry
  • Experience working in a Continuous Improvement environment and eliminating defects
  • Excellent workmanship and attention to detail
  • Good manual dexterity and the ability to use hand tools
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance in a manufacturing or comparable environment
  • Ability to work weekends as needed

Safety and Risk Management:

  • Understands and follows safety and security procedures
  • Practices preventative safety procedures as set forth by WD Lab Grown Diamonds
  • Reports all accidents and incidents immediately to Management
  • Uses only equipment trained to use and operates all equipment in a safe manner
  • Reports all potential high-risk areas and safety concerns to the Safety Manager

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facility
  • Must be able to access all parts of the company equipment
