JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Development is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Development Department, forecasts, and plans all contract re-procurement proposals, and identifies new contract opportunities by searching County, State, and Federal web sites for Requests for Proposals, Requests for Interest, and Requests for Quotations. Additionally, the Director collaborates with agencies, foundations, and various other sources to identify potential grant funding for existing programs. The Director will also write proposals, and grants to secure private and public funds for the agency.

• Manage existing contract proposals by tracking upcoming proposal requests; developing internal reporting systems; maintaining accurate and relevant agency descriptions, training plans, financial, and other standard narratives for use in proposals; maintaining excellent historical records.

• Maintains up-to-date and accurate database of proposal and reporting due dates, keeping relevant staff informed of upcoming deadlines and ensuring on-time and complete follow-through on all grant applications, RFPs and reports on awarded grants.

• Monitor local and national websites for re-procurement, and new funding opportunities that align with the company mission, and scope.

• Research proposals, projects, and grants, and develops presentations including pre-proposals, proposals, and grant papers, for Executive review.

• Selects and organizes subject matter expert(s), writer, financial team, department heads, and secondary proofreaders, manages kick off meetings, and acts as the central repository for the team’s communications.

• Communicates with other agencies, for proposal-related documentation such as Letters of Support, and MOU/MOAs.

• Oversees application process to successful award.

• Produces forecasting, and other reports as requested by the Executive team.

• Works collaboratively with writers, subject matter experts, Vice Presidents, Department Directors, and Grants Department staff to obtain the necessary information to write, and produce proposals, and grants.

• Writes RFP and grant responses, reports, and other ancillary materials, or hires, assigns and manages contracted writers, as needed.

• Critically reviews, and edits draft applications for responsiveness, and key proposal requirements, and identify issues or concerns that need resolution prior to submission of response.

• Proofread and perform quality assurance checks on all documents to ensure that proposals are properly formatted then printed, packaged, and shipped in a timely manner and in accordance with all stated proposal requirements.

• Ensure that continuing updates are implemented to the databases and supporting documents to reduce proposal size and simplify language.

• Other relevant duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree.

• Experience in writing successful grant proposals, with previous supervisory experience prefered.

• Excellent project management, and organizational skills.

• Strong command of the English language both oral and written.

• Multi-tasker with strong ability to work under pressure, and the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and produce quality results on time with precise attention to detail.

• Cultural Competency understanding required.
