Job Description

One of our Aerospace clients located in the Whitby area, is in search of a contract General Labourer and someone who wants/is willing to be fully trained in the Aerospace industry. This position can be converted to full-time within or after a 3 month period, if the successful candidate is performing well and there is opportunity to grow long-term with this organization. This is a Monday to Friday job (7am - 3:30pm).

Job Description:

Apprenticeship learning/training process:

• Training will start with learning to abrasive grit blast, glass bead peen, degrease and mask,various aerospace, nuclear and military components.

• You will then learn how to conduct chemical conversion and the chromate conversion processes required on many parts.

• Once you are ready, you will be able to learn how to run the Ion Vapour Deposition machines,and do your own Electroplating of Zinc-Nickel, Cadmium, Chrome, Tin and Copper coatingsonto aerospace and nuclear quality substrates.

• Candidates will also be trained in simple preventive maintenance activities on all appropriateequipment.

• Epoxy, Ceramic and Water based spray coatings application training will also be availablefor selected high performing candidates.

Requirements:

• Must be a Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant to be considered

• Full-time availability Monday to Friday with overtime if required

• Have the desire to learn a trade in the Aerospace field.

• Be interested in working with your hands.

• Being able to physically handle products, materials, supplies and equipment up to 50lbs.

• Be able to communicate, read and write effectively in English and collaborate with other team members.

• Have basic mathematics skills.

Experience:

• High school Diploma is preferred (OSSD); or equivalent.

• 0 - 1 year of general labour work experience.

Experienced candidates will be considered.
