Group Systems/Project Accounting Manager

A multi-national company headquartered in Huntsville,
Alabama is seeking a Group Systems/Project Accounting Manager. The Group Accounting office consolidates financial results for its
management and owners. Reporting to the Group Controller, the Group Systems/Project Accounting Manager will be the responsible for managing the accounting software and actively managing monthly submissions from Controllers.

Salary starts at $110K, based on experience. This position does allow for remote work on Wednesdays and Fridays once the employee is fully trained on the company's people, processes, and culture.

Primary responsibilities will include:

• Control and manage the consolidation of financial statements using consolidation software for monthly reporting, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgets. Financial statements are
  submitted from 35 companies worldwide, and the consolidation involves
  foreign currency translation issues. Once consolidated, these financial statements are
  distributed to management and shareholders
• Maintain current subsidiary financial reporting process using IBM Planning Analytics
  software
• Manage the next implementation phase of IBM Planning Analytics software so that the
  financial statement consolidations are performed using Planning Analytics (current
  consolidation is performed in Unicom Finance)
• Review of monthly financial statement submissions from subsidiaries to ensure correct
  reporting compliance and obtaining explanations for variances compared to budget
  expectations
• Maintain Unicom Finance system and Planning Analytics system and if needed, amend
  systems and reports for changes in reporting requirements
• Create, maintain and analyze regional and departmental reports issued to regional presidents and CFO monthly
• Train controllers as needed regarding monthly reporting system issues
• Maintain common chart of accounts to ensure consistency around the Group and assign new department codes or account numbers when needed
• Any other duties as periodically required.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• CPA preferred
• Eight years of related experience, including at least three years in public accounting
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with consolidations
