J Harlan Group is currently conducting a search for a Cloud Developer / Engineer at a Global Investment Bank based in their Houston Office.

As a talented Object-Oriented Developer / Engineer you will be part of an agile, global development team. You'll be working on a global cloud project which is changing the way their organization delivers software. As a member of the team, you'll develop and manage a highly critical cloud automation platform and help build and adopt new and cutting-edge cloud services.

Principal Responsibilities:

In the role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Develop and manage a highly critical cloud automation platform
• Help build and adopt new and cutting-edge cloud services.
• Design, develop, and test new cloud capabilities and enhance existing ones
• Work on cutting edge technologies
• Innovate, simplify, and automate
• Maintain and develop CI/CD pipelines
• Provide support for AWS and our CI/CD pipeline in the AMERICAs region
• Help architect applications migrating to the cloud
• Write technical documentation and create demos
• Support cloud security
• Improving observability, monitoring, and alerting capabilities

• Help improve UI experience

The ideal candidate would have a background including:

• 3+ Years of Object-Oriented Programming Experience (Java, Python, Ruby, C#, Scala, etc.)
• Knowledge of Cloud Technologies, i.e., AWS, Google, Azure, etc. is a plus
• A strong computer science and technical background
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including a demonstrable ability in troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• Experience with lively, organic, highly collaborative environments
• Ability to craft creative and practical solutions to problems and express those solutions in code.
• Must be an entrepreneurial, self-motivated, open-minded, conceptual, intelligent, bright individual who is intellectually honest & open to debate with excellent synthesis abilities.
• Strong desire to contribute and build a business - not just solve novel problems.

Required Education:

• Strong academic record and a BA/BS degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related educational background
