Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The NCHFA Compliance Specialist provides support to affordable communities by ensuring they are in compliance with Federal and State rules and regulations. This is accomplished through reviewing lease documents and providing guidance to site staff when corrections are needed.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Expertise in RCRS and V&R

  • Attention to detail

  • Offer soluntions not presenting problems

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Reviews resident files for completion and compliance with state requirements

  • Confirming accuracy of Vacancy & Referrals daily for their portfolio

  • Completing recerts timely and accurately

  • Communicating with the regional leadership team

  • Assisting the onsite team with leasing units

  • Physically inspecting the property in its entirety

  • Fortress accuracy


SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate's Degree preferred, but not required

  • 2-5 years of similar experience

  • Experience in other programs preferred but not required


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Frequently sit, stand and walk

  • Regularly required to talk or hear

  • Frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls

  • Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

  • Vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

  • Temperature in the workplace is typically moderate
