Event Installation Crew

Job Description: This is a part-time, seasonal position, May through August, working as part of an onsite team to execute event decor installations from start to finish. Pink Monkey will train interested and hardworking applicants how to install and strike event decor, scenic elements, and lighting in high profile locations throughout Colorado.

Compensation: $20 - $30/hr depending on experience and qualifications. Drivers are compensated at their rate per hour. Passengers are compensated at a rate of $15/hr. Meals, travel, and accommodations provided when working an event.

Skill sets we are looking for include, but are not limited to:

• Theatrical set assembly
• Event interior design/set dressing
• Theatrical and mood lighting
• Power and rigging
• Foam core and prop installation
• Fabric and drape installation (specifically tent ceilings, swags, and valances)
• Floral construction and onsite assembly

Specific job responsibilities include:

• On-site installation as directed by the Production Manager to execute events using technical knowledge and standard tools

• Work with event decor such as furniture, pipe & drape, event lighting, scenery, floral and other event design aspects
• Report to Production Manager any unexpected circumstances throughout the load in and out and work with them to solve on-site challenges and execute solutions
• Vehicle driving: vans/SUVs (hauling up to 16ft trailers behind vans) & box trucks up to 26ft
• Packing and unpacking of trucks
• Strike jobs and return all equipment in good condition
• Maintain tools, inventory and vehicles to a high standard of cleanliness and function which requires reporting to Production Manager:
  • report broken or lost items during install and/or strike
  • clearly note quantity changes on outside of case(s)
  • place any damaged drape in a clearly marked bag and note quantity
  • report any vehicle issues while traveling to/from a venue or whenever using a company vehicle (requires filing an incident report)

Travel & Scheduling info:

Willingness to travel is fundamental to this position. This is an on-call position and does not require a set schedule. However, if you agree to work a shift or entire job (both install & strike) then you are expected to fulfill that commitment. Our events are often in the Aspen and Vail area as well as other resort towns around Colorado. On location work is typically 1-3 nights. Pink Monkey covers travel to and from location, per diem and hotel accommodations. Schedules are provided two weeks ahead.
