We are seeking a Consultant to join our Surety group located in Las Vegas, Nevada, as a part-time employee. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly driven person with a well-rounded skill set to join the Surety team, whose responsibilities extend beyond those of traditional project engineers, project managers and consultants. The ideal person for this role will need to not only have a grasp of construction, and surety, but also be flexible and a strategic thinker able to take on a variety of tasks.

Job Description:

This person will be responsible for providing support and recommendations as required. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years of field experience in vertical construction projects with the ability to read contracts, and other typical construction documents.

The consultants in our organization have a strong desire to understand and learn the methodology for negotiating and settling files in a timely manner. They constantly apply strong analytical and writing skills to assist in the production of expert reports to support our clients in making important high-value decisions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform project assessments and necessary site visits.
• Project evaluation and assistance with cost-to-complete estimates.
• Provide requested work product and communication with clients and team.
• Review change orders, contracts, and other construction documents.
• Maintain required file work, quality standards, project documentation, and deliverables.
• Represent JS Held and its clients in a professional manner.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of field experience in public or private vertical construction projects.
• Strong understanding of administrative and construction processes of commercial construction projects.
• Must have excellent writing skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with P6 and Bluebeam is a plus.
• Strong analysis, critical thinking skills and detail oriented.
• Ability to communicate and work within a team setting.
• Ability to work on multiple projects and assignments concurrently.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Construction management and/or civil engineering related degrees, credentials, or certifications.
• E., EIT, PMP, and other certifications.

Physical and Mental Job Qualifications

• Willingness to travel locally or out-of-state.
• Ability to work on construction sites.
