Department: Finance

Location: 9050 N. Capital of TX Hwy, Bldg. 3, Suite 260, Austin, TX 78759         

Status: Full-time/Salary

Summary of Role:

As the Controller, your role will be to provide leadership and vision for scaling and improving our financial infrastructure and our accounting team. A successful Controller will be able to demonstrate having a customer focus, a strong business acumen, ability to instill a results-driven/solutions-oriented culture, and forward-leaning thought leadership that successfully devises strategies to navigate and address challenges and future needs. As the Controller you must have a strong executive presence in successfully managing relationships, utilizing a boundaryless “Noble” approach, and working cross functionally with a willingness to challenge the status quo.

 

Position Functions for Mastery

Position Requirements

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required, MBA/CPA preferred.

· 10+ years of Controller level experience concentrated in Private Equity, real estate, construction, private lending, private equity, finance and/or related fields required.

· Superior written and verbal communication skills; ability to interface with a variety of sophisticated contacts in a highly visible environment.

· Outstanding management and organizational skills; demonstrate ability to organize accounting operations, design and implement procedures, systems, and policies, lead a team, and maintain a high level of efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.

· Thorough knowledge of GAAP, Tax Planning, cost, and property accounting.

· Familiarity with federal business income tax and tax returns.

· High proficiency in Excel, Quickbooks, and Power BI.

· ERP experience, such as NetSuite, SAP, and Microsoft Dynamics strongly preferred.

· Experience with Sage Intacct and Tableau a plus

· Ability to maintain a positive disposition and good work ethic regardless of work demands.

 

FINANCE / ACCOUNTING

Payroll QA Controls:                                                                                       

Mastery of Payroll QA Controls by performing the process that ensures employee payroll is in agreement with employee compensation plans, agrees with the revenue model of the business and is in compliance with all controls set by Corporate Governance to provide for the systemic and accurate payment of payroll.

Bonus/Profit Share Plan:                                                

Mastery of Bonus/Profit Share Plan by the adherence to the Staff Growth and Development Model, as well as full compliance with the polices effecting bonus and profit sharing as issued by Corporate Governance while practicing proper stewardship with budgeting and planning for the related costs. 

GAAP Best Practices:   Mastery of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and their proper application to daily transactions to ensure correct recordation of accounting activity in the accounting software, including but not limited to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Capex, general journal entries, month-end adjusting entries, and recurring closing entries.

Financial Reporting:  Mastery of Financial Reporting via continued improvement and advancement of the financial reporting function to Noble Capital stakeholders through innovation and optimization of systems and processes, while constantly improving through feedback and engagement.

Treasury Management:  Mastery of managing the firm's liquidity and mitigating its operational, financial and reputational risk while providing a structured control of cash movements entering or leaving the business with proper authorization defined and audited, all in conformity with the policies issued by Noble Capital Corporate Governance. 

Finance Technology KPI & BI Data Analytics:  Mastery of Finance Technology (FinTech) via constant discovery, improvement, innovation, and integration of cutting-edge technologies into the Noble Capital framework.

KPI & BI Data Analytics: Mastery of KPI & BI Data Analytics based on continual measurement via systems with reporting for the Noble Capital Family of Companies and the Office of the CEO, while maximizing a Culture of KPIs & Scorecards inside of Noble Capital.

Tax Planning/Strategic Advisory: Mastery of the process of analyzing a financial plan or a business situation from a tax perspective. The objective of tax planning is to make certain that all elements of a business can function together with maximum tax efficiency while providing for the lowest minimum tax liability.

External Audit Support:  Mastery of the engagement of proper third-party audit firms, provision for independent financial or other audits within Noble Capital Group, and the real-time facilitation of requested data subject to audit.

Accounting Systems & Technology:  Mastery of Accounting Systems & Technology via the sourcing, installation, and operation of key accounting and financial reporting programs for Noble Capital.

Income Recognition: Mastery of the recognition of income within the guidelines prescribed by GAAP and in accordance with company policy, across all departments and divisions of Noble Capital Group.

Cost Accounting:  Mastery of a form of managerial accounting that aims to capture a company's total cost of production by assessing the variable costs of each step of production as well as fixed costs, such as a lease expense.

R12M & R5Y Accounting: Mastery of R12M & R5Y Accounting by the creation, development, and management of the rolling 12-month proforma and rolling 5-year forecast models for Noble Capital. 

Loss Mitigation: Mastery of Loss Mitigation by performance of the processes and methodologies that reduce the risk of financial loss as indicated on a Profit and Loss Statement by implementing sound controls and surveillance of expenses with high escalation potential such as legal costs. 

Banking – Finance: Mastery of the successful management of the relationship between Noble Capital and its banking partners, to ensure the proper banking and treasury management services are available to Noble Capital, to ensure that the best pricing structure is in place for the benefit of Noble Capital and to ensure that all controls, as prescribed by Corporate Governance are fully capable and established with the banking partners.

Controllership:   Mastery of the management function that supervises the accounting and financial reporting of Noble Capital and its divisions, while also being responsible for the implementation and monitoring of internal controls, as well as the day-to-day recordation of business financial activity into the official accounting records of the business.

Centralized Budgeting:  Mastery of Centralized Budgeting is the performance of a set of procedures designed to formally create a statement of estimated income and expenses for future periods based on future plans and objectives which is also used for planning and performance measurement purposes of assets and liability.

Cashflow Reporting: Mastery of Cashflow Reporting by the performance of a systematic process of determining and communicating the funding needs of an organization by assigning an estimated value for revenues, expenses and select balance sheet cash items for a subsequent period of time based on prior data and future plans.

Cap Table Reporting: Mastery of the cap table and exit waterfall tool to forecast how investment rounds impact ownership, dilution, valuations, and distribution of proceeds through a detailed exit waterfall.

P&L Reporting: Mastery of the P&L statement by assessing the revenue, cost, and expenses during a specific period for a company on a cash or accrual basis. Strategic analysis of the P&L over multiple periods to determine the profit and loss of a company.

PRIVATE EQUITY (PE)/ CORPORATE GOVERNANCE (GC)

PE Portfolio Management: Mastery of PE Portfolio Management by achieving strategic goals by selecting, prioritizing and assessing investment decisions and carrying out investment activities on behalf of vested individuals or institutions. 

PE Due Diligence: Mastery of PE Due Diligence by effectively evaluating business risk, while identifying and understanding all the necessary items in the due diligence checklist including financials, as well as being able to perform cross due diligence analysis on potential ventures and partners.  

PE Underwriting: Mastery of PE Underwriting by conducting the enhanced process of determining the level of risk involved in an acquisition, transaction or other major financial business decisions. 

PE Acquisitions: Mastery of PE Acquisitions by performing the adopted evaluation of management, analysis of industry standard historical financials, assessment of forecast data and the performance of a thorough study of a potential acquisition - all in pursuit of acquiring the aligned business investment. 

PE Business Valuations:  Mastery of PE Business Valuation process by updating enterprise valuation models for reporting growth, achievement of milestones, acquisitions, and dispositions. 

CG Treasury Management: Mastery of CG Treasury Management by managing the firm's liquidity and mitigating its operational, financial and reputational risk while providing a structured control of cash movements entering or leaving the business with proper authorizations defined and audited, all in conformity with set policies.

CG Technology: Mastery of Corporate Governance Technology by the implementation of controls, patents, intellectual property rights, licensing, and agreements required to secure and protect the technological systems and assets utilized by Noble Capital and its subsidiary businesses.  

CG Board of Directors: Mastery of CG Board of Directors by the creation and maintenance of the charter and guidelines under which a board of executive leaders gather and discharge their purpose as amended from time to time. 

CG Compliance: Mastery of the installation and application of all policies and procedures issued by Noble Capital Group Corporate Governance within the business and its subsidiaries, all working in harmony to fully protect Noble Capital. 

CG Shareholder Relations: Mastery of Shareholder Relations via the development and implementation of institutional grade VIP investor communication, UX & UI platforms and procedures to ensure professional, consistent and content rich communications and overall relations with Noble Capital’s Shareholders.   

CG Major Decision Driver: Mastery of CG Major Decision Driver by understanding and following the Important Decision-Making model that provides for the introduction of certain issues to executive authority for guidance, feedback and executive decision based on the related policy issued by Noble Capital Corporate Governance.
