Akelius is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented accounting manager to lead the accounting team.

The successful individual will have a strong understanding of accounting, finance, and management principles.
They will have superior attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills.

The finance manager will be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the accounting team.

All areas of general accounting will be overseen by the finance manager.

• hire, train, and manage accounting staff
• oversee month-end close, accounts payable, and payroll processes.
• oversee the daily activities of the accounting department

• ensure that all major projects, month, quarterly, and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time
• prepare and review appropriate ledger entries
• facilitate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and ad hoc financial reports

• review monthly reporting done by accountants, such as, prepaid schedule, fixed assets, accruals, construction in progress, security deposit transfers, bank reconciliation gross potential rent journal entries, parent allocation and bad debt provisions
• coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing schedule
• respond to inquiries from operations team and HR

• act as US tax regulations & financial regulations expert
• prepare federal/state income tax return working in compliance with federal and state tax returns regulations
• identify tax solutions to complicated tax questions advise management about the impact of new tax laws

• prepare property tax returns
• prepare tax provision and reporting current and deferred tax to the group
• coordinate with all internal and external auditors to ensure tax and accounting compliance of the US operation

• process procurement payable files on weekly basis
• provide evidence on a monthly/quarterly basis for internal controls
• perform other duties assigned or needed to help the accounting team

• oversee and manage the coordination and processing of monthly expenses including corporate credit cards
• perform other duties as needed

who you are

• bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (preferred)
• five plus years’ experience in management, accounting, or related field

• excellent leadership and communication skills
• analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
• meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills

• ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• ability to work independently and as part of a team
• excellent report writing and communication skills

• solid proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and other financial planning software
• high level of efficiency and accuracy
• ability to manage employees, while multi-tasking large projects
