Job Title:Cyber Security Engineer II

SUMMARYDevelopment, maintenance, and sustainment of the Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS). Protect and defend information and information systems by ensuring their availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation. This includes providing for restoration of information systems by incorporating protection, detection, and reaction capabilities.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interface and coordinate with systems and software engineers on secure design and code review, security requirements, Software Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) integration and validation testing.
  • Perform DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes, develop RMF artifacts, manage Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) records, and perform the Information System Security Engineer's work required by eMASS workflows.
  • Track system compliance and perform continuous monitoring utilizing the Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM) to track software vulnerabilities in all Business IT systems and programs.
  • Monitor the Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA), Information Assurance Vulnerability Bulletin (IAVB), Communications Tasking Orders (CTOs), and appropriate web sites for new vulnerability notices.
  • Respond to all active IAVs and assist programmers in delivering the software products necessary to ensure security configuration compliance.
  • Perform tests/scans utilizing appropriate USG/DoD/DoN approved tools, Software Requirements Guides (SRGs), Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and checklists to verify that new releases are in compliance with all USG/DoD/DON security requirements.
  • Verify that when patches and hotfixes are applied to current Business IT systems and programs, the updated Business IT systems and programs' security posture remains in compliance with USG/DoD/DON security requirements.


QUALIFICATIONS
Required Certifications


  • CSWF
  • DoD IAT Level II Certification.


Education, Background, and Years of Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Information Systems with a concentration in computer science or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of notable experience preparing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity policy, to include Assessment and Authorization requirements.

Required Skills


  • Plan, implement, upgrade, and/or monitor cybersecurity measures to improve cyber defense and maintain a cyber-resilient network.
  • Assess cybersecurity vulnerabilities for risks and propose and implement remediation actions or risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and electronic infrastructure.
  • Respond to computer security breaches to re-establish protections and make required reports.


WORKING CONDITIONS
Environmental Conditions


  • Government or Contractor site with 0%-10% travel possible. General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.


Strength Demands

  • Sedentary - 10 lbs. Maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles. Some occasional walking or standing may be required. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements
