To thrive as a Cyber Security Support Engineer, you need a solid understanding of network security, threat analysis, and incident response, often backed by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with security tools such as firewalls, SIEM platforms, intrusion detection systems, and certifications like CompTIA Security+ or CISSP are typically required. These challenges require strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and continuous learning.
