Dialogue recordist for DreamWorks Animation's Features. Position is coded as Local 700 Y-1.

"What would you say you do here?"

• Ability to calmly interact with A-List Feature Film voice recording talent, directors, producers and editors in a busy recording schedule.
• Ensure all systems are functional and tested leading up to recording sessions; equipment calibration, setup mics, gobos, adjust lighting
• Advise casting and talent about specs for remote records, as needed.
• Set up and record loop groups.
• Supervise and record music sessions
• Flag any recording issues during sessions to avoid pickups and/or retakes
• Edit audio files quickly to remove dropout noise and irregularities
• Back up all projects to the shared storage daily.
• Ability to maintain accuracy and detail with all tasks

Qualifications/Requirements

"What do I need to have in order to do this job?"

• 7-10 years in a mixing and/or recording environment

• Applicant must be self-motivated, have excellent time management and have the ability to work independently with little supervision in high-profile sessions.

• Advanced troubleshooting skills. Ability to mulit-task and fix technical issues quickly within high pressure environments

• Proficiency in recording techniques of microphone placement and signal flow. Professional experience using analog and digital patchbays and transport systems

• Experience recording ADR, Ensure dialogue lip sync and timing.

• Solid communication and people skills.

• Maintain a professional attitude.

• Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast paced environment.

• Work within a MAC OS and Windows audio recording environment

• Detailed knowledge configuring and troubleshooting all current professional audio equipment and audio workstations

• Audio control surfaces and consoles such as SSL and Avid S6, S5 consoles.

• In-depth knowledge of:

1. Avid Protools
2. Source Connect applications
3. Various Plugs as needed
4. MADI
5. Wordclcok
6. Timecode
7. Dante
8. compressors
9. Reference video playback using Avid Media composer or various file formats within Protools.
10. Mic Preamps
11. Various Microphones Neumann U87Ai, TLM170, Sennheiser MKH 50 and other mics.
