In this role you will perform validation of the data, help explain a requirement to a client that may be performing some of their data validation, troubleshoot an issue, and share your knowledge. In this role you will be interacting with data that may have originated from a Health System that contributes data types like Admissions (ADT), Laboratory, Radiology, Transcription, Medications, and more. That data will be provided in formats like HL7 2.x, C-CDA, and others.

What you'll own in this role:

•    Perform analysis and testing to ensure quality across the lifecycle of an implementation project for KPI Ninja’s clinical data repository (CDR).

•    The ability to articulate issues in layman terms to both internal and external audiences. This includes reporting new issues, suggesting solutions, or answering questions in tickets related to projects or support issues.

•    Will closely coordinate with KPI Interface Engineers to communicate defects and needed changes

•    Will collaborate closely with KPI Ninja Project Managers during implementations.

•    Will collaborate with client Project Managers during implementations.

•    Will collaborate with support or the client on post-production issues.

•    As needed, train client resources that participate in meeting our data ingest requirements.

•    Produce, update, and maintain detailed reports on issues found during validation.

•    Participate in peer reviews inside the team.

•    Balance tasks and priorities between multiple client projects and internal initiatives; ensure one’s own tasks are executed efficiently and according to project requirements and timelines.

•    Create or amend checklists for testing. Help by highlighting new opportunities for us to automate a specific test case.

•    Perform research and write documentation for internal and external audiences.

•    Demonstrate an ownership mentality, be detail-oriented, and practice continuous learning. Lead a balanced life that enables you to sustain your pace.

•    All other duties, as assigned.

What you bring to this role:

•    Beginner or Intermediate level in Structured Query Language (SQL). Must be comfortable writing select queries with joins.

•    Experience working with HL7 2.x and C-CDA.

Prior exposure to terms like LOINC, CPT, ICD, RxNorm, etc.

•    Experience working with EMR/EHR systems and an understanding of the healthcare clinical domain (especially HIS/LIS/RIS workflows) and HIT standards.

•    Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.

•    Ability to take pride in the quality, details, efficiency, and consistency of the components you will be helping test.

•    Self-motivated; comfortable working under general direction.

•    Knowledge of Microsoft Office products

•    Ability to coordinate and communicate clearly, timely, and effectively with other team members and with clients.

•    Ability to navigate difficult client conversations with a professional demeanor.

Other "nice to have" skills:

•    Ability to navigate specifications for industry standards like HL7 2.x, C-CDA, or FHIR

Preferred Education & Experience

•    Bachelor’s degree in information systems, technology, business, or any healthcare IT related degree; or equivalent experience.

•    1 year or more in a role related to quality assurance, testing, or validation.

•    1 year or more working hands-on with HL7 2.x in some capacity.

•    Prior work experience in a health care setting is a plus, with prior clinical experience valued even more than technical experience.
