Job Description

Our mission is to provide families, children, and staff a learning community in which all participants develop through a spiral dance of observation, inquiry, reflection, and documentation. We create an intentional environment where each participant is respected as a responsible contributing member of our community. We see the participants as co-researchers, co-learners, and collaborators in the building of our community.

Early Childhood Support Teacher

Growing Seeds Crystal Springs is hiring full-time Support Teachers to join our team of early childhood professionals.

Our location has five classrooms, and we serve children ages 6 weeks old - and 6 years old and their families. We are located in SE Portland, Oregon within walking distance of trees, streams, and other natural areas.

We are guided by a combination of philosophies and practices, including RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers), Reggio Emilia, PBIS, and Social-Constructivism. We are passionate about connecting children with natural environments, farm-to-table meals (Growing Seeds has a farm!) social justice, and anti-bias education.

Teacher Requirements:

Registered with the Oregon Criminal Background Registry
First Aid/CPR, Food Handler's Card, and take a Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse & Neglect class within 90 days of employment
Teacher Qualified (Licensing Requirement: 1500 hours of early childhood experience gained with a group of the same children in at least 3-hour blocks within a 36-month period)
