Avionic/Electronic Bench Technician III

Diagnoses malfunctions and repairs Avionic Test Equipment, observes and trains under higher grade workers on diagnosis and repair on less complex repair/maintenance problems, solves repair problems by studying drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical publications; uses automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, document maintenance actions, analyzes, diagnosis and repairs Avionic Test Equipment using conventional and digital multi-meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, circuit card testers, transistor testers, and hand tools. This technician also does the following: disassembles and assembles malfunctioning test equipment accessories and components, removes, repairs, cleans, treats for corrosion.

This technician performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Avionic Test Equipment, inspects, tests, and operates Test Equipment to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation, diagnoses mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications. This technician stencils and marks Avionic Test Equipment in accordance with technical publications, stores, handles, labels, uses, and disposes of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations. This technician practices good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, and safety at all times.

Performs routine and non-complex assignments. Responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project. Selects and adapts plans, techniques, designs, or layouts. Reviews, analyzes and evaluates test results and prepares reports on findings and recommendations.

Designs, develops, and constructs devices, or equipment; conducts tests or experiments; analyzes results and redesigns or modifies equipment to improve performance and report results. Analyzes technical data to determine applicability to design problems.

Able to read and understand aviation equipment electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. To include component identification and function.

Knowledge in the use of Test Equipment. Circuit Card assembly repair experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be able to speak, read and understand English
Have been in position of an Engineering Technician IV for at least 6 months.
