Class A Local Truck Driver

We are seeking a professional Class A CDL Truck Driver to join our team! We are a next day LTL delivery service who specializes in consolidating and shipping rolled and palletized flooring material to carpet retailers and jobsites. You will be driving 3 axel tractor pulling a 28'-53' trailer. This is typically a Monday-Friday position starting as early as 5am depending on route and workload. Drivers will assist with deliveries that are offloaded by equipment on-site. Join a winning team in a Niche industry. You'll be glad you did!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Implement safe and efficient operating procedures while meeting established schedules.
2. Efficiently load and/or unload freight using proper freight handling equipment.
3. Take responsibility of and secure the equipment and/or cargo.
4. Receive and verify dispatch instructions properly.
5. Follow company Iphone policy and procedures.
6. Complete daily log and all other necessary paperwork.
7. Drop and hook trailers and change the configuration of equipment as necessary (5th wheel & tandems). .
8. Connect air hoses and electrical lines, manually crank dolly wheels and fuel equipment.
9. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspection of equipment.
10. Courtesy calls with ETAs to customers when needed.
11. Determine any discrepancies in paperwork and relay to customer and dispatch.
12. Maintain and update driving and safety skills; keep CDL current with endorsements.
13. Perform duties in a manner that promotes superior customer service.
14. Communicate with supervisor to receive instructions, report delays or safety hazards, and report accidents involving the driver or company equipment.
15. Ability to handle physical workload; climbing into trailer, onto freight, reaching, strapping & picking up to 60lbs.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Must be age 25 or older.
2. Must possess a valid Class A CDL with Doubles endorsements.
3. Must have a minimum of 2 years of tractor-trailer driving experience.
4. Must have a current Motor Vehicle Report that represents a history of safe and competent driving.
5. Must be able to work the maximum hours allowed under D.O.T. Hours of Service Regulations on various shifts/days of the week, while maintaining outstanding attendance.
6. Must pass an employment record, criminal background check, drug screen, physical performance test, driving test on company equipment.
7. Ability to communicate with internal and external customers effectively.

Must meet all requirements of Sections 391 and 383 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
