Job Description
Salary: 20-25 DOE

Under the supervision of the Director of Media and Communications; The Audio Visual and Technology Coordinator is responsible for coordinating setups for audio/visual presentations, event support, managing equipment inventory, and supporting the IT Department with technology help desk requests as needed. The AVTC is proactive, ability to multitask, works well under pressure, troubleshoot problems quickly and possesses excellent organizational and communication skills. Working hours based on various scheduling needs and events. This is a non-exempt position earning between $20-$25 an hour, depending on experience.

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and setup audio/visual presentations.
  • Maintain audio and video equipment (under the supervision of the Media Director).
  • Troubleshoot all related laptop/projector/sound system connectivity issues.
  • Maintain an organized library of videos and photos.
  • Assist with general technology help desk requests as directed by the IT Department.
  • Attend Technology Committee Meetings and others and others as assigned.
  • Set up audio and video for events and meetings in different times of day and week.
  • Under the direction of the IT Department, perform regular upgrades to AV computers and ensure systems remain updated
  • Troubleshoot system failures or bugs (under the direction of our IT Department) and provide solutions to restore functionality
  • Arrange maintenance sessions to discover and mend inefficiencies
  • Keep records of repairs and fixes for future reference
  • Offer timely technical support and teach users how to utilize computers correctly
  • Get the AV system ready for a live broadcast (also during weekend)

 

Qualifications

  • Be self-motivated with a problem-solving curiosity.
  • Be flexible to spontaneous demands and have grace under pressure.
  • Establish and maintain effective work relationships in the performance of required duties.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a team.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, climb, squat, reach, and kneel
  • Ability to Attend after hour or weekend events as needed.

Required Skills

  • Working knowledge of: Mac, Windows and Chromebooks OS
  • Experience with different types of laptop/tablet to projector connections, Digital Still and Video Cameras, and Video conferencing hardware and software
  • Experience setting up and managing PA systems (amps, mixers, microphones, cables, speakers)
  • Familiar with Video editing software such as Adobe Premiere
  • Experience in MS Office Suite: PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Experience in Google Workspace for Education

Conditions of Employment

Successful completion of fingerprint clearance, TB screening and satisfactory reference check. Proof of vaccination and / or weekly Covid-19 test results.
