In addition to the general duties and responsibilities required of an RCP I which include demonstrating competence in patient care for pediatric adult and geriatric patients performing arterial punctures continuous ventilation airway maintenance emergency care infection control isolation procedures maintenance and operation of mechanical ventilators cardiopulmonary resuscitation and medical gas administration; the RCP II will be responsible for providing care for neonatal patients including intubation and/or resuscitation and will also have the opportunity to become certified in adult intubation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Completion of an AMA-approved respiratory therapy program
• Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required
• Two (2) years of acute care experiences with one (1) year of critical care experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications though the American Heart Association (AHA) required based on facility requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current California Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license preferred
