Position Summary

The Manager of Graphic Design provides project and design leadership under the supervision of the department Director. This position requires the capacity for sophisticated design and strong time and task management skills. An extensive background in graphic design, knowledge of office systems, and strong ability to deliver excellent customer service and interact effectively with the organization's employees, and vendors is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manager of Graphic Design will perform duties including, but not limited to:

  • Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program's mission, values, and philosophies.
  • Under the guidance of the Director of Design, Content & Technical Writing, creates original and consistent visual design media that communicate messaging in alignment with the organization's brand standards and our mission, vision, and values.
  • Collaboratively works to produce templates and completed media projects for internal and external marketing for programming and networking.
  • Prepares drafts of design work, provides proofs for review, and revises projects as necessary based on a collaborative feedback process.
  • Consults with subject matter experts for content edits.
  • Prepares print orders and assembly instructions on notification of final approval.
  • Maintains current knowledge of trends and developments in online marketing.
  • Contributes to the organization's web presence through social media, email, web advertising, and other online sources.
  • Provides backup coverage for the Senior Director of social media as needed.
  • Promotes the organization's brand through media channels with consistent content messaging.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor's degree in art, graphic design, or relevant field of study is required.
  • Must be able to produce a recent portfolio.
  • 4-5 years of work experience in a design-specific position using InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is required.
  • Experience in Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere is a plus.
  • Strong writing and design skills are required.
  • Advanced skill set in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Advanced skillset using Adobe Creative Suite.
