With a growing network of locations, both the Vascular Institute of Northern California and California Foot & Ankle Centers (CALFAC) provide comprehensive care and surgery, including advanced wound care and amputation-prevention therapies, lower extremity peripheral nerve surgery, vascular diagnostic testing, vascular and endovascular procedures, and reconstructive surgery.

We have been serving patients for over 60 years, building a loyal patient base keeping our clinic and surgery center locations busy with little to no marketing during that time. JOB BRIEF

We are seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners for our vascular centers in the Greater Sacramento area. See www.TLCvascular.com for locations. Most work will be normal business hours. But sometimes weekend work will be required, based on when procedures are scheduled.

As a member of our team, we all provide a high level of efficient patient care, while always presenting a caring, ethical, and professional experience for the patients, doctors and other team members.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consultation: Obtain thorough patient history, performs focused physical examination, formulates treatment plan and documents findings in the patient's electronic medical record
  • Demonstrates basic understanding of venous ultrasound and basic surgical skill
  • Review pre-procedure instructions, explains procedure and review procedural risks and benefits with the patient
  • Obtain vascular access and perform conservative therapy evaluation, microsurgical phlebectomy, ultrasound guided sclerotherapy and visual sclerotherapy
  • Maintain prompt and timely communication with the referring clinicians and patients (i.e. sends follow up letters, thank you letter and returns patients calls)
  • Educate and counsel patients and distribute educational materials
  • Document within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and complete other necessary documents
  • Demonstrate actions of a team player-assist peers with documentation and case load, provides vacation coverage for peers and offer overall support when appropriate
  • Demonstrate pride in our high-quality care of our patients, and respect for fellow teammates.


EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a physician's office or hospital setting
  • Current California RN license/registration by the National Council Licensure Examination - Registered Nurses (NCFLEX-RN)
  • Current California Advance Practice Nurse Prescriber License (Including all associated requirements for medical education, testing and logging of CME.

bASIC KNOWLEDGE and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a physician's office or hospital setting
  • Experienced in diagnosis and treatment of common medical conditions
  • Ability to make independent decisions regarding patient care
  • Basic working knowledge of managed care and Medicare population
  • Vascular procedural experience is a big plus, and we provide additional training
  • Skilled in surgical techniques
  • Excellent communication skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, handle documents, bend and stoop as needed, and reach with hands and arms. The position requires use of keyboard and computer regularly. Strong vision abilities to perform extensive computer-related work.
