Job Summary: The Special Procedure Technologist plays a vital role in the healthcare team, specializing in performing advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures using medical imaging equipment. • Prepare the imaging equipment and patient for specialized diagnostic or interventional procedures, ensuring all necessary supplies and instrumentation are available.
• Provide compassionate and supportive care to patients during procedures, addressing their concerns and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
• Operate complex imaging equipment, such as fluoroscopy, angiography, or MRI, to obtain high-quality images that aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Collaborate closely with healthcare providers, assisting during procedures by monitoring patients, administering contrast agents, and providing real-time imaging guidance.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, ensuring radiation exposure is minimized, and equipment is properly maintained. Participate in quality control measures to uphold the highest imaging standards.

• Bachelor's degree or associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field. State licensure and certification as a Radiologic Technologist or Special Procedure Technologist.
• Completion of an accredited program in Special Procedure Technology with relevant certifications, such as Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Certified Radiologic Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist (RT-CI).
• Proficient in operating specialized medical imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy, angiography, and MRI systems, with a deep understanding of imaging protocols.
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced environments. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
• In-depth knowledge of radiation safety practices and regulations. Commitment to following best practices for patient care, infection control, and maintaining a sterile environment.
