Medical Technologist Job Summary

Our clinic is looking for a Medical Technologist to run medical laboratory tests and analyze various biological samples and specimen, such as blood or tissue. In this role, you complete this lab work in order to assist physicians in diagnosing conditions and treating patients. You may perform specialized testing in a certain area, such as immunology, hematology, microbiology. Our ideal candidate has a relevant bachelor's degree and certification through the American Medical Technologists (AMT) agency or the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).

Medical Technologist Duties and Responsibilities

  • Use medical laboratory equipment to run various tests on blood samples and other bodily specimens
  • Collect and analyze lab test results
  • Accurately record all patient information and data for quality control
  • Consult with physicians and other medical personnel as necessary to relay information

Medical Technologist Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, medical laboratory technology, or life sciences
  • Certification through the AMT or ASCP (if required by state)
  • Analytical and communication skills
