Job Summary: The Special Police Officer is responsible for enforcing laws, regulations, and policies to ensure the safety and security of a specific area, property, or community. This role involves proactive crime prevention, incident response, and collaboration with local law enforcement agencies. Special Police Officers may be employed by private organizations, governmental agencies, or special jurisdictions to uphold the law and maintain a safe environment for all stakeholders.

• Enforce laws, regulations, and established protocols within the designated jurisdiction
• Conduct routine patrols, monitor surveillance systems, and respond to alarms or suspicious activities to prevent criminal incidents
• Respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies, accidents, or incidents, taking appropriate action to safeguard lives and property
• Engage in proactive measures to deter criminal activity, such as community outreach, educational programs, and crime prevention initiatives
• Conduct preliminary investigations into incidents, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and collaborate with local law enforcement agencies as required
• Manage traffic flow, issue citations, and assist with accident investigations to ensure road safety within the designated area
• Mediate disputes, handle conflicts, and maintain a calm and professional demeanor in challenging situations
• Document incidents, investigations, and daily activities accurately and comprehensively, adhering to organizational standards
• Coordinate and collaborate with local law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and other stakeholders to ensure a unified and effective approach to security and safety
• Participate in ongoing training programs, workshops, and skill development to enhance knowledge and effectiveness in law enforcement duties

• High school diploma or GED equivalent. Completion of a certified police academy or law enforcement training program is preferred
• Possession of a valid Special Police Officer certification/license issued by the relevant governing body
• Prior experience in law enforcement, security, or a related field is advantageous
• Ability to pass a thorough physical fitness examination and maintain physical fitness standards throughout employment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with diverse individuals and groups
• Excellent decision-making abilities, sound judgment, and the capacity to act responsibly and independently in challenging situations
• High moral and ethical standards, with a commitment to upholding the law and maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
•  Successful completion of a comprehensive background check, including criminal record and reference checks
• Ability to stand, walk, run, and perform physical tasks for extended periods, as well as lift and carry heavy objects when necessary
