Job Summary: As a Part-Time Police Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of the community. This position entails enforcing laws, responding to emergencies, conducting investigations, and engaging in community policing efforts. Working collaboratively with the police department, you will contribute to maintaining law and order within the jurisdiction while fostering positive relations with the public.

• Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activities, conduct traffic stops, and respond to emergencies promptly
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and crimes, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing detailed reports
• Enforce laws and ordinances, issuing citations and making arrests as necessary, following proper legal and procedural protocols
• Participate in community policing initiatives, building positive relationships with community members, and providing educational programs on safety and crime prevention
• Attend court hearings and provide testimony as needed, ensuring adherence to legal requirements and procedures
• Respond to and assist with medical emergencies, fires, natural disasters, and other public safety incidents, coordinating with other emergency response agencies
• Engage in proactive crime prevention efforts through targeted patrols, surveillance, and involvement in community events and activities
• Provide assistance and support to individuals in crisis, such as domestic violence victims or individuals struggling with mental health issues, and connect them with appropriate resources
• Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and organizations on joint initiatives and operations to enhance public safety
• Maintain and clean assigned equipment, vehicles, and facilities to ensure they are in optimal working condition

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of police academy and certification as a police officer
• Minimum of 1-2 years of law enforcement experience, preferably in a municipal or county police department
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to operate emergency vehicles safely
• Must be at least 21 years of age and a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the United States
• Physical fitness and stamina to perform essential job functions, including the ability to pass a comprehensive physical examination and meet established fitness standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with diverse community members, colleagues, and stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in high-pressure situations
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards and the law enforcement code of ethics
• Demonstrated understanding of legal procedures, law enforcement principles, and criminal codes
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the needs of the department and the community
