Senior Estimator Job Summary

We are searching for a Senior Estimator to join our firm. You will join a team of hard-working, dedicated professionals that works on a variety of large-scale construction projects. In this role, you will prepare cost estimates from drawings, outlines, or job specifications and help review estimates from our architects and engineers. You will also attend pre-bid meetings, determine the scope of work, and respond to requests for proposals from potential clients. As part of the estimation process, you will request bids from subcontractors and negotiate with suppliers. Applicants must have a bachelor's or master's degree and experience in commercial construction cost estimation.

Senior Estimator Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare project cost estimates from drawings, outlines, or specs
  • Review estimates from architects and engineers
  • Respond to RFPs and RFQs
  • Attend pre-bid meetings
  • Determine the scope of work
  • Request bids from subcontractors
  • Negotiate with materials suppliers

Senior Estimator Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management
  • Cost estimating experience (4-6 years strongly preferred)
  • Ability to read technical drawings
