Mobile Phlebotomist Job Summary
Our hospital is looking for a qualified Mobile Phlebotomist to help us draw blood offsite. In this job, you will travel to sites around the region to collect blood, primarily for donations and sampling. Since many people are uncomfortable with blood and needles, we need someone with excellent communication skills to keep patients calm and relaxed. Patient care experience is also crucial. You also need to have completed a phlebotomy training course and hold a current state license. A flexible schedule is required, as your job duties and requirements can change from day to day.
Mobile Phlebotomist Duties and Responsibilities
- Travel to the job site
- Set up phlebotomy equipment and administrative stations
- Greet patients and make them comfortable with the procedure
- Draw blood from each patient
- Safety store blood for transport
- Deliver specimen to the proper laboratory personnel
Mobile Phlebotomist Requirements and Qualifications
- Certificate from a phlebotomy program
- Experience as a phlebotomy technician preferred
- Prior roles in patient care, such as an EMT or PRN, is a plus
- Strong communication skills
- Flexible schedule
- Ability to travel as needed
