Where do mediators work?

Mediators work in a wide variety of settings. Some work for law firms where arbitration is available to people trying to avoid lawsuits by finding a structured resolution to their conflict, whereas others may work as labor specialists, mediating disputes between workers and employers or unions and employers. Also, some Mediators work for government agencies within the judicial system that refers to mediation either within the court system or on behalf of the city or state government. Lastly, mediators may work for third-party firms that provide mediation services for everything from family issues to business conflicts.
