Where do doulas work?

Career: Doula

Depending on the birthing plan of the family, doulas may help deliver children in a hospital, birthing center, or home setting. If they work with a mother after giving birth, they may spend a lot of time helping in the family’s home. It’s important for doulas to live near their clients in order to cut down travel time, and many find work within their local communities as a result. Typically, they either work independently and run their own business, are part of a collective, or find clients through an agency that hires doulas as contractors.
