Job description

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering operations within a complex manufacturing environment supporting critical production initiatives. This individual will play a key role in driving engineering execution, improving manufacturing performance, developing leaders, and implementing process improvements across the organization. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation, proven leadership experience, and a continuous improvement mindset with the ability to drive accountability and operational excellence through others. Senior Engineering Manager Responsibilities - Lead and develop engineering teams, including direct management of engineering leaders and supervisors - Translate company strategy into actionable engineering priorities, milestones, and execution plans - Drive turnaround initiatives for underperforming manufacturing processes and operational challenges - Lead implementation of automation and process improvements within manufacturing operations - Troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment, manufacturing, and quality-related issues - Develop long-term engineering and operational strategic plans aligned with business objectives - Manage engineering resources, staffing, workload prioritization, and project execution - Establish and monitor KPIs related to productivity, delivery, quality, and engineering performance - Promote a culture of accountability, technical rigor, continuous improvement, and floor-level engagement - Lead efforts related to material obsolescence, replacement strategies, and process optimization - Communicate project status, risks, and priorities effectively to executive leadership and cross-functional teams - Mentor and develop engineering talent while building succession plans and leadership bench strength - Ensure engineering activities comply with internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations - Drive rapid decision-making and continuous improvement while maintaining strong documentation and process discipline Senior Engineering Manager Requirements - 10+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment required - Experience managing multiple direct reports required, experience managing supervisors strongly preferred - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or another related technical field required - Advanced degree preferred including M.S., Ph.D., or MBA strongly preferred
