Location: Houston, TX
We are looking for a Distribution Center Manager to lead the overall operations, performance, and profitability of our Houston distribution center. This role will oversee warehouse operations, transportation, inventory management, safety, fleet coordination, and team development while driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all distribution center operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement through data analysis, process optimization, technology utilization, and standardized operating procedures.
  • Manage warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and last-mile delivery performance.
  • Monitor and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operational efficiency, inventory management, delivery accuracy, service levels, and operating expenses.
  • Manage labor and operating costs in alignment with budget and profitability goals.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
  • Champion driver performance programs through coaching, accountability, and performance management.
  • Partner with centralized fleet management to ensure preventative maintenance compliance and timely equipment repairs.
  • Oversee inventory receipt, storage, reconciliation, and distribution activities.
  • Support supply chain operations, including internal stock transfers, repackaging activities, and specialized service programs.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership and internal stakeholders to support customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and business growth.
  • Lead, coach, and develop operations personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure operational readiness and resource availability during emergency response situations.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Required
  • Must reside within 60 miles of the Houston, TX facility and be available to work onsite.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in inventory management, logistics, and distribution operations leadership.
  • 3+ years of experience managing operations teams in a warehouse, logistics, transportation, or distribution environment.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with sales teams to support growth objectives.
  • Experience leading process improvement and change management initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems, business processes, and order management software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, leadership, coaching, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to travel as needed, including support of emergency response efforts.

Preferred
  • Experience managing bulk and packaged petrochemical products.
