Job description
Microsoft's Windows Device Sales (WDS) organization partners with the world's largest device and technology companies to bring Microsoft software and services to market through compelling hardware solutions globally. WDS plays a critical role in driving Microsoft's revenue, profitability, and platform growth by shaping the device ecosystem across OEMs, channels, distributors, resellers, and silicon partners.
As part of the WDS Business and Strategy Operations organization, the Program Management Office (PMO) enables Microsoft enterprise growth motions through scalable operating models, governance processes, investment management capabilities, and cross-functional execution. PMO works across Sales, Category, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Engineering, Legal, and Compliance to ensure strategic opportunities are executed consistently, investments are managed effectively, and business outcomes are measurable. The team owns the operational mechanisms that connect business priorities to execution.
WDS is expanding its Enterprise Commercial initiatives and establishing a new Senior Program Manager role focused on Enterprise Opportunity Management. This role is responsible for managing the operational lifecycle of enterprise opportunities, ensuring governance requirements are met, stakeholders are aligned, investments are tracked, execution activities progress effectively, and business outcomes are measured from initiation through completion.
Role Scope & Impact
- Own the enterprise opportunity management process from opportunity intake through outcome realization.
- Manage end-to-end opportunity workflows, including intake, triage, routing, governance reviews, approvals, execution tracking, closure activities, and outcome reporting.
- Drive cross-functional alignment and accountability across opportunity stakeholders, investment owners, engineering teams, advisors, and operational partners.
- Establish and operate governance processes that provide transparency into opportunity health, execution status, investment utilization, risks, dependencies, and realized outcomes.
- Create scalable workflow models, reporting mechanisms, operating rhythms, and decision documentation that improve consistency, effectiveness, and execution quality.
- Deliver portfolio-level visibility and insights that inform business decision-making, investment optimization, and leadership reviews.
As Senior Program Manager, Enterprise Opportunity Management, you will own the operational governance and orchestration of enterprise opportunities across Microsoft's commercial device business. You will partner with business leaders, investment owners, engineering teams, sales stakeholders, operational teams, and PMO leadership to drive visibility, accountability, and execution excellence throughout the opportunity lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end operational management and governance of enterprise opportunities across the WDS organization.
- Manage opportunity intake, qualification, triage, routing, lifecycle tracking, governance checkpoints, and closure processes.
- Coordinate execution activities across Sales, Engineering, Category, Marketing, Finance, Operations, PMO, investment program teams, advisors, and other delivery teams.
- Establish governance forums, review cadences, escalation paths, decision logs, executive reporting processes, and stakeholder communications.
- Drive accountability for execution milestones, deliverables, dependencies, commitments, issue resolution, and follow-through across cross-functional stakeholders.
- Build and maintain opportunity dashboards, portfolio reporting, health metrics, executive scorecards, and outcome measurement frameworks.
- Track investment activities and business outcomes to confirm alignment to approved opportunity objectives, expected success measures, and realized impact.
- Identify execution risks, operational bottlenecks, dependency issues, process gaps, and data-quality challenges, and drive timely resolution or escalation.
- Lead process improvement and automation initiatives that improve efficiency, visibility, operational scale, and consistency in enterprise opportunity management.
- Partner with PMO leadership to evolve enterprise opportunity workflows, governance mechanisms, operational capabilities, tooling requirements, and reporting processes.
- Provide senior leadership with actionable insights regarding portfolio health, opportunity performance, investment effectiveness, execution readiness, and outcome realization.
- Support annual planning, business reviews, investment reviews, and performance assessments through data-driven analysis, recommendations, and operational insights.
