Position Summary

The General Business Analyst role on the Commodities Team in Supply Chain is responsible for ensuring the availability of materials and inventory required to support ongoing business operations and strategic initiatives. This role monitors inventory and commodity performance and works to identify and mitigate potential supply risks that may impact business needs. The position serves as a key liaison between business units, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, developing strong working relationships and becoming a trusted partner in understanding operational requirements, project demands, and material needs. Through collaboration with cross-functional teams, the General Business Analyst provides insights, coordination, and support to ensure timely material availability, effective inventory management, and alignment with organizational objectives.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Support inventory ability by assisting with material planning, forecasting, and replenishment activities.
  • Gather and organize information on problems or procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels and material requirements to support operational needs.
  • Maintain data in SAP.
  • Analyze data gathered and develop solutions or alternative methods of proceeding.
  • Assist in identifying and communicating potential material shortages and supply disruptions.
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies by partnering with Accounts Payable, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support inventory planning activities by analyzing historical usage, demand trends, and replenishment requirements.
  • Partner with warehouse personnel to understand material needs and priorities.
  • Utilize reports, spreadsheets, and system tools to monitor inventory and support daily business operations.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers and internal business partners to support operational success.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Understands processes and procedures in specialized field.

Ability to multi-task various critical work assignments in a fast paced environment in a professional manner

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Excel.

  • Relative experience in supporting utility construction and maintenance.

Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business related events in and outside of service area. After hours work may be required.
Physical Demands
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
