Primary Purpose
The Prin TSO Ops Support Specialist, Compliance & Procedures is directly responsible for development of Exelon transmission control room procedures, compliance with NERC reliability standards, mentorship, and oversight of the Transmission Ops Support (TOS) Compliance and Procedures team members, support of special projects, and support of the Sr Manager in strategic decision making. The Prin TSO Ops Support Specialist, Comp & Proc is a subject matter expert on the transmission systems who researches, develops, or modifies procedures and oversees development of control room procedures for less experienced employees. Additionally, they administer regulatory NERC compliance programs to ensure employees across the enterprise safely and reliably perform job duties fully compliant with all NERC standards. Note: Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24x7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
Note: This is a hybrid position (in-office with remote flexibility). Employees are required to be in office at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). This position must sit out of our Kennett Square - PA office.
Primary Duties
  • Responsible for planning, oversight, and direct execution of annual NERC standards self-assessment and procedure review plans for one assigned control center or enterprise-wide
  • Provide leadership and support of highly complex multi-opco special projects such as NERC/PJM audits, Opco alignment initiatives, procedure consolidations (at a specific control center or enterprise-wide level), compliance investigations, NERC Event Analysis, etc
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on compliance and procedure writing and development for assigned control center, and in some cases enterprise-wide
  • Provide mentorship, development, and oversight of other team members and execution of control room training on procedures and compliance related topics, as needed
  • Provide direct support and oversight for CIP compliance related activities such as quarterly visitor log reviews and PSP access requests
  • Influence external organizations and regulatory agencies, via participation in committees, such as PJM Working Groups/Task Forces and NERC Committees to influence policy development
  • Responsible for oversight and submittals of DOE-417 reports

Job Scope
The Prin TSO Ops Support Specialist, Comp & Proc is responsible for the administration of NERC regulatory compliance programs. Prin TSO Ops Support Specialist, Comp & Proc is responsible for the development and implementation of the Management Model Policies, Programs and Procedures that govern the day-to-day normal operations, and the emergency operations used by the control room. Prin TSO Ops Support Specialist, Comp & Proc actions have a significant and direct impact on transmission system reliability and public and employee safety. Prin TSO Ops Support Specialist, Comp & Proc has direct interaction with internal and external customers such as: Exelon Compliance Management Team (CMT), Exelon Legal, Business Unit Compliance Contacts (BUCCs), Regional Transmission Organizations ('RTO'), Interconnected Transmission Companies, Interconnected Generating Companies, Interconnected Customers, Exelon organizations and regulatory agencies (PJM, NERC & FERC)
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or job related technical field plus 8-10 years of experience OR in lieu of Bachelor's degree a minimum of 12-14 years relevant experience is required.
  • Experience in the operation, planning, design, or maintenance of high voltage electrical equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge and use of computer systems and applications in the Microsoft suite of products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/SharePoint/Teams), PI-historian.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate activities with other Energy Delivery departments, PJM, and Generating Plants.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a Transmission Operator and/or Transmission Ops Support Engineer
  • Prior Compliance experience
  • PJM and/or NERC Certification

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $116,000.00/Yr. - $159,500.00/Yr.
