Primary Purpose
The Lead Systems/Application Administrator is accountable for the secure, compliant, and reliable operation of enterprise Oracle platforms in a SOX-regulated environment. This role provides technical leadership and oversight for Oracle ERP, Oracle EPM, OCI, CI/CD pipelines, and Linux servers, while leading other administrators.
The Lead Administrator owns code migration governance, system and application patch planning/execution, and change discipline, serving as the primary escalation point and authority for production operations. This role partners closely with Audit, Security, Infrastructure, and Application leadership to ensure operational excellence and audit readiness.
Sr. Systems Administrator is an advanced role that utilizes experience and skills to support and optimize the Exelon IT organization by providing expert technical guidance, direction and insight to project managers and stakeholders regarding IT system solutions and improvements being deployed with in the enterprise environment. Utilizes expert & skillful abilities to optimize and maintain high priority and complex IT system initiatives and project solutions to include both cloud, non-cloud and hybrid cloud models. The IT Sr. Systems Administrator provides technical leadership to support delivery and maintenance of IT solutions supporting Exelon. This role will evaluate IT infrastructure and application solutions and make recommendations for supporting and optimizing application and data workloads within these hosting models. Sr. Systems Administrators demonstrate expertise for monitoring, configuration and maintenance, of current hosting services to support virtual hosting technologies, software tools. This role will work in collaboration with other IT teams, leadership, enterprise business partners, vendors and project/design teams, in all aspects of the secure & reliable hosting of applications throughout Exelon's large &complex enterprise and real time operational environments.
Note: This is a hybrid position (in-office with remote flexibility). Employees are required to be in office at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
This role is open to our offices within IL, PA, MD, or Washington DC.
You must be able to commute within our service area to be considered.
Primary Duties
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Establish evaluation, testing, lab and mockup solutions as needed. Serve as a senior resource and mentor in assigned daily support and deployments to operations and ensure solutions meet business requirements and established metrics (SLAs). Responsible for operating and maintaining complex solutions at the component level, including hands-on configuration, leading troubleshooting efforts and optimization of metrics for cloud based/hybrid/on-prem services. (45%)
  • Support projects, planning, maintenance and operations. Consults with leadership, project teams, application/service support teams and end users to optimize availability and performance analysis for potential changes related to both cloud, non-cloud and hybrid cloud models. Provide technical expertise and guidance for maintaining performance and reliability of key IT solutions. (20%)
  • Work closely with leadership and the team to develop future improvement plans, resource requirements, migrations strategies, and project schedules to improve service delivery and efficiency. Understand other technologies and service offerings and their impact to the delivery of cloud based/hybrid/on-prem services. (15%)
  • Provide feedback and guidance to leadership and peers to risks identified during business impact analysis, site risk assessments and disaster recovery planning. (15%)
  • Maintain technical knowledge and business acumen within our own discipline or function. Coach and mentor less experienced team members, apprentices and/or interns. (5%)

Able to train and educate by setting the example, giving appropriate instruction, providing leadership, and raising the level of performance of others while on the job.
  • Independently develops alternatives and options to meet work objectives.
  • Position has expertise in Microsoft or Oracle technologies and the integration of these services.
  • Position has senior level expertise and hands-on competency in platform or application area of expertise, and tools/systems associated with these functions.
  • 24/7 on-call rotational duties.
  • Work under minimal supervision.
  • Mentors junior-level team members and others.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline and 4-7 years' relevant experience in IT infrastructure support, application support, cloud computing, disaster recovery or 6-9 years equivalent combination of education and comparable work experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously. Able to absorb changes to major assignments while maintaining a high level of performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, inclusive of partner with vendors and other IT professionals to do so.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate with and influence customers for changes in service levels, understanding the business rationale for those changes.
  • Proficiency to successfully access information and prepare reports of moderate difficulty.
  • Demonstrates a willingness and ability to offer solutions, take risks in new areas and make creative decisions within the scope of assignments and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates mastery of the best practices in practical applications of a difficult nature.
  • Demonstrated consulting, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated expert proficiency in related technologies such as storage, compute, database, collaboration, application design, and cloud hosting.
  • Ability to design and troubleshoot Layer 1, Layer 2 and Layer 3 networks independently.
  • Experience participating in interviews of users as part of a systems development team to gather information for analysis or technical work.
  • Maintained experience with a specialized technical skill set. Demonstrated competence with business acumen within own discipline or function.
  • Ability to travel domestically.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Certification in area of expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to use configuration tools and support the management of changes made to hardware, software, firmware, documentation, test, test fixtures and test documentation of an automated information system throughout the development and operational life of a system.
  • Proficiency to successfully demonstrate Process Improvement in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
  • NERC-CIP Certification
  • 7+ years of enterprise systems application administration experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical staff or acting as a senior lead administrator.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle ERP and or Oracle EPM.
  • Proven ownership of code migrations, patch management, and change control in SOX environments.
  • Experience with OCI administration.
  • Strong Linux systems administration experience.
  • Experience supporting SOX, ITGC, or similarly regulated environments.
  • Excellent documentation, audit readiness, and stakeholder communication skills.
