ASML brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography systems that are critical to producing faster, more powerful and energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service advanced systems that enable the world's leading chipmakers to create smaller, more capable semiconductor devices that power the technologies people use every day. Headquartered in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, ASML operates globally with 18 office locations across the United States, including major sites in Chandler, Arizona; San Jose and San Diego, California; Wilton, Connecticut; and Hillsboro, Oregon.
As an Upgrade Install and Relocation Engineer, you will play a key role in bringing ASML's advanced lithography systems into production at customer sites. You will install, upgrade, relocate, qualify, and optimize highly complex semiconductor manufacturing equipment that helps customers achieve world-class performance and productivity.
Working within ASML's Customer Support organization, you will collaborate with customers, engineers, and technical experts to deliver safe, high-quality installations and upgrades. In this hands-on role, you will contribute directly to technology innovation while building trusted partnerships and helping customers maximize system performance and operational success.
Role and Responsibilities
As an Upgrade Install and Relocation Engineer, you will work closely with customers, engineers, and technical experts to install, relocate, upgrade, and optimize advanced lithography equipment. You will combine technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and teamwork to ensure systems are delivered safely, accurately, and on schedule.
You will:
  • Install, relocate, de-install, assemble, and qualify lithography systems and subsystems in cleanroom environments.
  • Execute system upgrades, modifications, and recovery activities according to established procedures and technical specifications.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and system-level issues to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical challenges.
  • Analyze system performance and verify compliance with engineering, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Complete technical documentation, service reports, work orders, and project handovers accurately and on time.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide guidance to less experienced team members when appropriate.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, physics, electronics, or a related technical field, or two years of practical experience.
  • Associate degree, technical degree, military technical training, or two years of experience may be considered with relevant industry experience.
  • Minimum one year experience in field service, semiconductor manufacturing, equipment installation, high-technology manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or a similar technical environment.
  • Minimum one year experience assembling, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electromechanical equipment.
  • Minimum one year experience using data analysis tools, spreadsheet software, and technical reporting applications.
  • Minimum one year experience reading technical documentation, engineering drawings, procedures, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, vacuum systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, precision alignment, or related technologies is preferred.
