Spirent Federal Systems Inc., a subsidiary of Keysight Technologies, provides advanced GPS/GNSS test solutions used by U.S. government agencies, defense contractors, and industry partners. Our technology ensures the performance, reliability, and resilience of navigation‑dependent systems—including drones, satellites, rockets, autonomous platforms, and communication systems.

As an Application Engineer, you will work directly with customers to ensure successful deployment, operation, and troubleshooting of Spirent Federal’s products. This role blends hands‑on technical work, customer communication, and collaboration with engineering teams to support mission-critical programs.

Responsibilities

Customer Support & Issue Resolution

  • Serve as the primary technical resource for customer inquiries after product delivery.
  • Diagnose, replicate, and resolve technical issues related to GPS/GNSS test equipment.
  • Provide clear guidance to users to ensure correct system setup and operation.

Collaboration With Engineering Teams

  • Work closely with hardware and software engineering teams to escalate complex issues.
  • Communicate product defects, usability concerns, or enhancement opportunities.
  • Provide technical insights that support continuous product improvement.

Customer Advocacy

  • Act as the “voice of the customer” to help influence product development and roadmaps.
  • Document trends and feedback to improve support processes and product quality.

Documentation & Tracking

  • Log, track, and manage support cases using tools such as Salesforce, Jira, or similar systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of issues, resolutions, and customer communications.

Onsite Support & Field Engagement

  • Support customer site visits for installation, system upgrades, integration support, and basic repairs.
  • Represent Spirent Federal in customer environments with professionalism and technical expertise.
  • Travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Experience with RF test equipment, including:
    • Spectrum analyzers
    • Signal generators
    • Power meters
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work onsite in Pleasant Grove, Utah.
  • U.S. citizenship required due to federal customer base.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with GPS/GNSS systems or navigation technologies.
  • Familiarity with defense, aerospace, or government programs.
  • Knowledge of automation tools, scripting, or Linux environments.
