We are seeking a Sous Chef - Island Creek Oyster Bar - Boston (Kenmore Square) to join our team! Located in Kenmore Square, Island Creek Oyster Bar is a restaurant concept inspired by Island Creek Oysters, a working oyster farm in Duxbury, MA. A hybrid of New England shore food and creative, seasonally influenced seafood, our menu reflects our sensibility, printed just before service to ensure that we’re presenting the freshest ingredients possible. This individual will join a professional team committed to excellence and consistency within a high volume atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day culinary operations
- Coordinate food and kitchenware orders
- Check freshness and quality of ingredients
- Assist in the development of menu items
- Standardize recipes and plate presentations
- Work with management to create a memorable experience for guests
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in culinary arts, cooking, or other related fields
- Knowledge of cost and labor systems
- Passion for food and cooking techniques
- Strong leadership qualities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
The right candidate will influence both meat and fish preparation, classic sauces & stocks and an outstanding raw bar program. Previous Sous Chef experience is appreciated but not necessary, if the candidate is the right fit.
Summary of Compensation:
- Competitive Annual Salary ($55K - 65K, based on experience)
