Job Description

Lapeer County ISD is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Instructor to join our Education and Technology Center in Attica, MI!

Additional Information:

  • Days and hours are Wednesdays from 5:00 p.m - 9:00 p.m
  • Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience
  • Deadline: Applications submitted by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2020, will be given preference

Required Qualifications:

  • Certifications
    • Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • Certified by the State of Michigan as a Nurse Aide Trainer

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Work History
    • Previous experience in a comparable capacity in a school setting or educational environment
    • Previous experience working with adult and at-risk students
  • Knowledge
    • Specialized educational programs (e.g., Career and Technical Education (CTE), Special Education, Adult and/or Community Education)
    • Student information management systems (e.g., Synergy, PowerSchool, Skyward, etc.)
  • Proficient in use of:
    • Google applications
    • Adobe products
    • Microsoft Office products
    • Standard office equipment
  • Skills:
    • Written and verbal communication skills
    • Organizational skills
    • Interpersonal skills
  • Abilities:
    • Teach classwork related to assignment
    • Maintain student confidentiality at all times
    • Establish and maintain a good rapport and positive relationships with all individuals encountered during the performance of work duties and responsibilities
    • Work efficiently through the use of current technology and keep up with changes in technology
    • Use social media to maximize community outreach

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and plan all class-related instructional materials and activities
  • Provide quality instruction and necessary support to students enrolled in class in order to ensure their success in class
  • Assess and address the individual academic needs each student
  • Use a variety of research-based instructional strategies to meet the needs of all students enrolled in class
  • Evaluate students’ academic growth and maintain records related to their progress including attendance records, learning plans/goals, and assessments
  • Create and maintain a safe classroom environment that is conducive to learning
  • Manage and monitor student behavior in the classroom and school building
  • Integrate work, family, and community activities into instruction
  • Perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with board policies and administrative guidelines
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
