Insurance Loss Building Consultant/Construction Project Manager

We are seeking an insurance loss building consultant/construction project manager to join our team. Our company is experiencing rapid growth in construction consulting services for the insurance loss industry in project types ranging from fire and water damage, to tornado and hurricane damage. Projects are based mostly in the Chicago area, but travel throughout the country is not uncommon. Depending on experience, this team member could be part of a larger team and/or be independently responsible for consulting assignments from inception to completion including initial site meetings and assessments, scope evaluation, cost estimating and settlement negotiations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Receive insurance loss assignments and evaluate proper course of action dependent on customer needs and timing.
2. Site meeting and evaluation of damage as well as methods for mitigation and repair.
3. Scope determination for repair work.
4. Cost estimating for proper scope of repairs.
5. Communication with customers and assistance with communications regarding scope and costs for project repairs.
6. Continued communication for settlement of insurance losses to provide turnkey solutions for our customers.

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

1. Several years experience in construction, insurance loss repair, and/or the insurance adjusting industry. Experience in multiple of these areas is a plus.
2. Proficient with use of Xactimate software is mandatory.
3. College degree is a plus.
4. Good organization and verbal/written communication skills especially as they relate to changing priorities (sometimes on a daily basis).
5. Proficient with use of Microsoft Office software.
6. Ability to read construction plans, specifications and documentation.
7. Ability to communicate with subcontractors and consultants (both for our team and other teams involved with a loss), as well as opposing contractors and estimators.
8. Ability to travel, sometimes overnight, and sometimes for multiple days on short notice (1-day notice).
