Job Description

A Chicago based General Contractor is seeking a full-time Construction Project Managers/Field Superintendents to successfully oversee projects from start to finish. The Construction Project Manager/Superintendent requires a comprehensive knowledge of construction-related processes (hotel work a plus), as well as industry practices.

Positions at Lake Zurich home office and positions available at project sites coast to coast

Responsibilities and Skills:

Monitoring the progress of the work
Oversee Civil Site Work, Building Construction and Interior Build-outs
Assist with the development of Project Schedules and update/maintain the Project Schedule
Participate in scheduling and monitoring the subcontractor's field staff for timely project completion
Effectively and efficiently deal with clients to assist in the resolution of project issues
Maintain daily logs, weekly reports and progress photographs
Conduct weekly progress and subcontractor meetings
Ensure material is delivered to the construction site per the construction schedule
Maintain monthly pay draws
Maintain project records to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and regulations
Initiate correspondence
Recognizing/acting promptly on potential changes or additional work to the contract, conflicts or ambiguities in the plans and specifications, and changes in field conditions
Strong knowledge of construction procedures and operations, building codes and ability to read detailed plans and blueprints
Excellent communication skills
Good understanding of all building systems
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Must be of good work ethic, character and loyal
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
Minimum 10 years’ experience in all facets of Commercial Construction building and/or renovations (Background in hotel work a plus)
Ability to travel 75%-100% and some weekend work
Strong proficiency with Microsoft, Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project and the ability to learn new programs. (Knowledge of Bluebeam and/or CorCon a plus).
