The Department of Cardiac Surgery at Hartford Hospital is seeking a Cardiac Surgeon with a particular interest in Heart Transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support. The ideal candidate would have two to three years of clinical experience and have completed a fellowship in Heart Transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support, but other qualified candidates will be considered. In addition to temporary and durable Mechanical Circulatory Support and Transplantation procedures, the successful candidate would be expected to perform the full range of standard adult cardiac surgery at the highest level. It is the flagship institution of Hartford Healthcare, an integrated multi-hospital healthcare system which is the leading provider of advanced care in central Connecticut. The Department of Cardiac Surgery at Hartford Hospital within the Heart and Vascular Institute performs over 1000 open heart procedures annually, in addition to over 250 TAVR. The Heart Transplant program has been active since 1984. The surgeons work in close collaboration with the physicians and staff of the Center for Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation to deliver world class care to patients with end-stage cardiac disease.
