Job Description

The Children’s Home of Reading (CHOR) seeks a Full-Time Family Interventionist in the Lehigh Valley to provide quality family services as part of the community-based service team. “Help make a difference in the lives of children and teens in need of support and your professional expertise!”

Clinician needed for our In-Home program in the Lehigh Valley to provide treatment to families with male and female children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral & sexual issues. Responsibilities include family therapy in the community in the families’ homes. Position requires some night and weekend hours.

Essential Functions:

Effective use of verbal and non-verbal communication skills with adolescents/families.
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with adolescents/families.
Strong clinical skills and therapeutic methods to aid youth and families through crisis to stabilization.
A strong familiarity with various community resources.
Ability to assess, interpret and effectively document data specifically related to the care of adolescents and family dynamics.
Therapeutic crisis prevention and intervention; First Aid and CPR; infectious disease control policies and procedures; emergency fire procedures/evacuation; Emergency medical procedures; Child Protective Services Law; Child abuse recognition and staff responsibility.

Education, skills, experience, requirements:

MSW or MA in Clinical or Counseling related area required
Minimum of two years clinical experience required
Experience with community-based counseling preferred
Bilingual preferred, but not required
