How to Become a Transfer Driver

The qualifications to become a transfer driver include a relevant driver's license, a high school diploma, and navigation skills. The type of license that you need for this career varies depending on your job duties. If you operate a truck that weighs more than 13 tons, you need a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). To drive box trucks and buses, you need a Class B CDL. To succeed in this job, you need the skills to navigate around a particular city or region. You may also need to have the physical ability to load and unload cargo.
