An audio technician also responsible for the maintenance of sound production equipment and loading everything up at the end of the show.

You need qualifications in sound technology to become an audio technician. You can attend a professional certificate program in audio production technology, or choose to earn an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in sound engineering. In addition to educational qualifications, an audio technician needs entry-level experience and training in the industry to learn the skills necessary to move up into more advanced positions. With experience, you can become a sound engineer and supervise other beginning audio technicians.

They work with a team of other audio technicians and sound engineers who provide instruction and guidance. Most audio technician duties involve the setup, breakdown, and maintenance of equipment. A sound engineer takes on a more supervisory role and has a certain level of creative freedom to influence the sound of a recording or performance.
