Job Title:
Enterprise Imaging PACS Administrator - Senior - FT

Job Summary:
Administers and supports all enterprise clinical imaging software including imaging archive, image exchange, dictation, and technical clinical imaging interfaces. Responsible for testing, problem analysis, training and optimization of applications. Provides DICOM expertise to the organization.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in radiology technology, information technology, or related field and four years' experience with DICOM software support or programming, or equivalent combination of education/experience. Radiology or clinical setting experience preferred. Experience with epic radiant or cupid applications preferred. ARRT preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED: NA

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of radiology/imaging system workflow, thorough knowledge of DICOM, PACS and dictation software. Working knowledge of Radiologist workstations and imaging modalities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Administers and supports all enterprise clinical imaging software including imaging archive, image exchange, dictation, and technical clinical imaging interfaces, in addition to other imaging related systems. Ensures that providers can access clinical images with the highest level of efficacy possible on and off campus.
  • Actively promotes and implements standardization, integration and optimization plans for clinical imaging applications. Researches and implements appropriate best practices. Develops internal policies and procedures. Provides input to imaging department and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Conducts problem analysis and provides timely and accurate resolution for complex issues on advanced clinical applications across multiple systems. Supports Imaging team in troubleshooting efforts. Proactively monitors system performance using available tools to prevent system malfunction and/or downtime.
  • Leads large sized project implementations of imaging applications, new sites, and testing efforts, including where clinical imaging applications integrate with other clinical applications. Provides leadership to other members of the team on imaging project implementations.
  • Responsible for coordination of set up and maintenance of external sites for TeleRadiology workflows.
  • Coordinates and manages vendor support for clinical imaging solutions to ensure the highest quality support possible.
  • Provides on call services that support a 24x7 clinical operation. Participates in special projects as needed.
  • Builds strong relationships with core customer base. Functions as the primary subject matter expert on clinical imaging systems and DICOM. Available for knowledge sharing with other imaging staff.
  • Provides training for clinical imaging applications and processes to Radiologists, Radiology Residents, Providers, super users, and other imaging system users.
  • Collaborates with imaging teams' development of clinical imaging system documentation and education. Leads development of training materials in conjunction with the instructional designer to support training efforts for imaging system users.

(occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more)
