As a high-growth firm, Wilson Engineers offers the opportunity to work on impactful and technically challenging projects alongside a talented and passionate team. We are currently seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater EIT Design Engineer join our Tempe, Arizona office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintains and documents communication with clients through letters and telephone throughout the development and completion of a project.
  • Monitors team members' progress and advises team members of schedules and deadlines.
  • Reviews schedules and budgets relative to project progress and completion.
  • Conducts project status review checking accuracy of work completed and monitors timeliness of project completion.
  • Attends meetings on project management.
  • Assists Project Managers with any administrative duties concerning the completion of the assigned project.
  • Maintains project file.
  • Assists Project Manager in preparation of engineering studies and reports.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to members of the project team.
  • Provide project design using sound engineering principles, engineering software, and AutoCADD.
  • Assists in the preparation of contract documents and technical specifications.
  • Assists Project Manager in assuring quality control procedures are performed.
  • Assist in the preparation of project drawings.
  • Performs necessary code research.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of each segment of the work and the final check of the work.
  • Responsible for adherence to all applicable codes.
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and mentoring to engineering staff.

Requirements
  • Must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Chemical Engineering (degrees in other fields WILL NOTbe considered); Masters degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering is a plus, but not required (again, degrees in any other field WILL NOT be considered)
  • Possess a strong desire for a career working in the Water and Wastewater field (including the design of treatment facilities, collection systems, booster and pump stations, water, reclaimed water, and wastewater master plans).
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Detail-oriented team player with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Valid driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history
  • Familiarity with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD platforms
