What you'll be challenged to do:

As a Water Engineer, you will provide technical support to a team of skilled engineers and project managers, leveraging your expertise to enhance the team's capabilities while supporting multiple projects simultaneously. As a Senior Manager in our Water Group, you will lead pursuits while overseeing Technical Work and Staff.

This represents an excellent career opportunity for a proven self-starter capable of leading small to large scale projects with a customer-centric mentality with an emphasis on delivery quality at the highest level.

In this capacity, the successful candidates could be responsible for the following:

  • Supporting condition assessment evaluations for water and stormwater assets, including pipelines and pump stations, using various design approaches and technologies.
  • Meeting established budget and delivery schedules for each task assignment, including scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Working directly with municipal clients to identify needs and provide solutions, while helping draft task order proposals.
  • Coordinating the execution of projects with other disciplines and the Project Manager and/or Contract Manager.
  • Developing small to large design projects from planning to construction.
  • Preparing complete construction packages (including plans, specs, and OPCC) for the engineering, procurement, and construction of water systems for clients.
  • Supporting growth of client relationships.
  • Creating and managing cost estimates and project schedules, ensuring design tasks are completed within budget and on schedule.
  • Preparing detailed engineering calculations and performing technical analyses which may involve utilizing 3rd party software platforms.
  • Participating in local office activities to encourage collaboration, foster client development, and improve office camaraderie.
What you will bring to our firm:ย 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study.
  • 3-20 years of related experience
  • EIT required
  • Texas Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred
  • Project experience including design of water treatment plant upgrades, water distribution systems, pump stations, and stormwater assets.
  • Hydraulic modeling experience is a plus.
  • Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Experience managing preparation of and reviewing and approving engineering plans, specifications, project schedules, and construction cost estimates.
  • Experience using Bluebeam is desired.
  • Participation in VA AWWA, VWEA, or other regional or national professional associations.ย 
Compensation:The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $200,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.ย Featured Benefits:ย  Hybrid (in-person and remote) work environment.
