Job description

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a water engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience to join our Dallas or Fort Worth office. Candidate to be involved with a wide range of water infrastructure projects, which can include treatment process design and construction, distribution systems, wastewater conveyance, including pumping and pipelines. In addition to the technical requirements, the position requires experience with project management or the desire to grow into a project management role. Position will include high level of client development and management, supported by our Texas offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participation in the evaluation, planning, and design of water, wastewater, stormwater, reuse, and infrastructure projectsโ€ฏ
  • Participation in a project team from the initial study and conceptual design stages through to the construction of major water related infrastructure projectsโ€ฏ
  • Fieldwork and site visits from design through construction may be requiredโ€ฏ
  • Other responsibilities may include:โ€ฏ
    • Project management of a large project or several small projectsโ€ฏ
    • Client development and management supported by our local officesโ€ฏ
    • Planning, organizing, and supervising staff of engineers on projectsโ€ฏ

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in environmental, civil, chemical, or mechanical engineering
  • PE license
  • Strong interest in the water/wastewater industry
  • Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, organization, and attention to detail
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • A minimum of 10 years of experienceโ€ฏin planning, design, or construction of water-related projectsโ€ฏ
  • Experience related to preparing conceptual/feasibility studies, development of construction drawings and specifications, bidding assistance, and support of office and field-related construction services
  • Familiarity with engineering and construction management softwareโ€ฏ
  • Capable of supervising staff and managing projectsโ€ฏ

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Masterโ€™s or Doctorate) in environmental, civil or mechanical engineering
  • Proficiency in GIS, CAD/BIM, BioWin, PowerBI, and databases
