Banquet Servers are primarily responsible for the proper and timely set-up and execution of banquet service for special events in accordance with Banquet Event Order (BEO) specifications and direction from their assigned Banquet Captain.  They set up tables, chairs, stages, dance floors and audio-visual equipment, deliver food and beverage service, and maintain all equipment and facilities in an organized, clean and safe manner.  Banquet Servers exemplify the Company’s values, safety and sanitation standards, code of conduct and work rules.   They are highly knowledgeable of all Company safety and sanitation policies, procedures, remain flexible in responding to operational needs with a “can-do” approach, and maintain the highest standards of professionalism.

Job Duties:
  • Performs the full range of special event set up functions, banquet food and beverage service, guest management, tear down activities, maintenance and storage of equipment for special events in accordance with BEO specifications, established special events policies, procedures and guidelines, steps of service manual, IDPRP manual, and management directives.
  • Sets-up creative and professional presentations of buffets in accordance with culinary guidelines, and safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ensures 100% guest satisfaction though consistent application of special events policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintains regular communication with Banquet Captain to ensure special events run smoothly and in accordance with BEO requirements and service standards.
  • Reports observations of operational, food and beverage service, supplies and equipment, safety and sanitation deficiency in accordance with established procedures and protocols.
  • Monitors guest behavior according to alcohol awareness procedures in order to prevent intoxication and follows all protocols in handling intoxicated guests.
  • As requested by management, performs other work activities to support the safe and efficient operation of the restaurant
Education, Experience and Behavior Requirements:
  • High school Diploma/GED required
  • Current food safety certification, such as ServSafe and SafeStaff
Experience: 
  • 2 years of experience as a restaurant server or performing the full range of special event set up functions, banquet food and beverage service, guest management, tear down activities, maintenance and storage of equipment for special events.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to effectively engage others verbally
  • Ability to listen and speak in basic English in order to maintain effective communications in the performance of essential job functions
  • Ability to read and comprehend data sources, written work instructions, policies, procedures and other work materials in English in order to perform essential duties in accordance with safety, sanitation and operational standards and trainings
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Ability to pay attention to details
Schedule Requirements:
  • Full-time/Part-time
  • Schedule may fluctuate based on business needs
Travel Requirements:
  • No travel required
Physical Demands:
  • Frequent lifting, moving and carrying of food trays, dinnerware and drinks, tables and chairs, garbage etc. weighing up to 50 pounds across the restaurant
  • Regular and prolonged standing and walking inside and outside the restaurant to service special events, deliver food and beverages, clean, sanitize and set up workstations, etc.
  • Regular ascending/descending stairs across the restaurant to deliver food, pick up dirty plate ware, etc.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Frequent use of hand to finger motions, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms
  • Constant bending, stooping and turning to serve food and beverages, remove dirty plate/glassware, dispose of garbage, etc.
